Pats Best Snow Games

On the anniversary of the infamous 1982 Snow Plow Game, we recount some of the best Pats snow games in Foxboro – starting with the Snow Plow Game.

  • December 10, 1982 – Patriots 3, Dolphins 0

The game was played before the smallest crowd ever at Foxboro when Mark Henderson, an ex-con on work release, drove into NFL history (that was pre-Aaron Hernandez was people went from jail to Foxboro and not visa versa).

The Dolphins got revenge in the first round of the playoffs, beating the Patriots 28-13 in Miami en route to their classic match up with John Riggers and the Redskins in the Super Bowl.

  • October 18, 2009 – Patriots 59, Titans 0

The largest ass-whooping in NFL history since the NFL-AFL merger.  Pats led 45-0 at half.

  • January 18, 2004—AFC Championship: Patriots 24, Colts 14

In the first Brady-Manning playoff matchup, the Pats defense gave fair-weather Manning a New England welcome – 3 sacks, 4 interceptions.  It was so much fun, they did it in the snow again the next year in the playoffs.

  • Jan. 19, 2002—AFC Divisional playoff: Patriots 16, Raiders 13

The greatest Patriot snow game of all-time.  The famous “tuck rule” game, was the first of many Brady led comebacks, plus Adam Vinatieri’s winning kick was a preview of even bigger things to come.
